We are proud to have a team of nurses that are specialists in their field. Within our nursing team, we have a Mental Health Nurse, Dual Registered Nurse, and Learning Disability Nurse to care for a range of health needs.

Defining Nursing Care

Nursing care is for individuals with complex healthcare needs such as those who require 24-hour medical care and support with personal living needs.

Our highly-trained staff are able to deliver intensive rehabilitative care such as peg feeding, supporting those with physical disabilities, and caring for residents with long-term health conditions.

Our purpose-built care home has been designed to provide long-term health and personal care, offering facilities that are suitable for those with complex medical ailments and severe conditions.

Nursing Care at The Fleet Care Home

Our Home Manager and Deputy Manager are supported by a dedicated team of Registered General Nurses, Senior Carers and Health Care Assistants, each of whom has a particular interest in the care of the elderly and are experienced in caring for older people with physical disabilities, those who are terminally ill, those with high dependency needs and those who become infirm.

Before moving into our care home, our team will perform a care needs assessment which will establish individual care needs, and what type of care is best for them.

Our person-centred approach to care means we look after our residents as a whole, delivering highly skilled nursing care while also looking after their wellbeing and providing an environment in which they can live confidently and happily while retaining as much independence as possible.

Nursing Care FAQs

Care homes and nursing homes might differ slightly in terms of the services they provide, and this is dependent on the unique needs of each resident. Here at The Fleet Care Home, we offer a range of nursing services which include the management of medication and wound care, assistance with activities of daily living, and consistent monitoring of health conditions such as cognitive and physical disabilities as well as sensory impairment. Our nursing staff also collaborate with other healthcare providers whenever necessary, ensuring that every resident receives the care essential to uphold their health and overall wellbeing.

If you’re noticing the following signs, it might be time to consider a care home for someone you care about.

  1. Significant weight loss or changes in appetite
  2. Increased confusion or forgetfulness
  3. Difficulty with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, or grooming
  4. Recent hospital visits due to falls or accidents
  5. Worsening chronic health problems like diabetes, heart disease, or dementia
  6. Struggling to manage medications or follow treatment plans
  7. Needing special medical equipment or care, such as oxygen therapy or wound care

Both care homes and nursing homes can evaluate your loved one’s needs and offer guidance on the best care. When deciding on a care home, it’s vital to talk openly with your loved one about their needs.

At The Fleet Care Home, we consider our responsibility and duty of care as paramount. We take the safety of individuals seriously by ensuring we have highly trained staff at all times, infection control and medication management protocols in place, and by carrying out regular safety evaluations. Additionally, we’ve set up security measures to safeguard our residents.

At The Fleet Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
