Tracy Slaughter, Captain’s Termly Award
On the 14th of December, our dedicated Administrator Tracy Slaughter received a well-earned Captains Termly Award presented by the Captain of Britannia Royal Naval College.
The Fleet Care home has been long affiliated to the Royal Naval College which is the home of initial Naval Officer Training since 1863. Tracy has helped the college by assisting with setting up and maintaining accommodation that can be used by the navy and civilian families, visiting loved ones whilst completing their training.
Tracy made a comment ‘My family has connections with the Royal Navy and it’s great to be able to give something back to the community and to be able to help out family members come and visit their loved ones and to have the opportunity to be able to explore our beautiful location in Dartmouth’
Whenever we can we make sure to encourage our residents to associate themselves with the local community. It allows our residents to maintain their independence and is the perfect opportunity to maintain and build new relationships with one another.
Regularly encouraging our residents to be associated with the local community provides the social boost that sometimes our residents need to allow them to connect with one another. It also increases the social interaction of our residents with many important health benefits such as the reduced risk of dementia, and physical problems.
If you would like to find out more information regarding the activities at The Fleet Care Home, or the many care options we have to provide, then please feel free to contact us and a friendly member of our team will be happy to help.
