Halloween Party at The Fleet

At The Fleet Care Home, we hosted a Halloween party this year, after a request from some of our residents wanting to celebrate Halloween. What a sensational event this turned out to be. Our activities team put together an afternoon filled with "spooky" fun, from singing and dancing, there were smiles all around. With staff and even some paramedics joining in with the Halloween festivities.

Of course, there can be no Halloween party without sweets and cake. This was an opportunity for our residents to enjoy some of their familiar favourites, reminiscing about the sweet treats from their past.

A number of our residents joined our staff, getting involved with some dressing up, with a variety of witches, wizards cats and more.

We also welcomed the talented Viki Philip - The Ultimate Hairbrush Diva, into The Fleet, who gave us a musical performance to remember. With an afternoon full of sensational party songs and vocals. Encouraging residents to join in with singing, dancing and tambourine shaking.

The Benefits Of Music In Dementia Care

There are a number of benefits that Music can have within care. Music therapy is proven within Dementia Care to support the overall wellbeing of residents. By not only reducing stress but also inspiring reminiscence, social activity and improving cognitive activity. All of these are essential when living with dementia, to ensure a sense of identity and exploring positive memories.

It is important that our activities team can provide a variety of activities, that will both keep our residents entertained, but also support them and their care needs, ensuring a happy and healthy environment here at The Fleet Care Home. If you would like to find out more about how we can meet your care requirements and support your loved ones with a varied activities programme, then we welcome you to book a tour or get in contact with our friendly team.
