Embracing Political Engagement Ahead of Upcoming Election
As the election approaches on July 4th, The Fleet Care Home is ensuring that our residents are well-prepared and informed to cast their votes. Whether opting for a postal vote or heading to the local polling station at the Baptist Church, every effort is being made to facilitate the participation of our ladies and gents in this important democratic process.
In a proactive move to engage residents, The Fleet reached out to all candidates running in the election. We were delighted when the charming Anthony Mangnall, Conservative Parliamentary candidate, was the first to respond and agree to visit. Mr Mangnall graced us with his presence, offering a warm welcome and an open forum where he introduced himself and addressed a variety of questions from residents, staff and visitors alike.
The interaction was lively and informative, with Mr Mangnall handling even the toughest questions with fairness and poise. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many praised his candidness and appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with a candidate.
The primary aim of this event was to encourage our residents to actively engage with the election process. By facilitating this direct interaction, we hope to empower our residents with the knowledge and confidence to make informed voting choices.
This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering a politically active community, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued in the democratic process. As the election day nears, we continue to support our residents in every way possible, reaffirming that their participation is both a right and a valued contribution to society.
