Darmouth Dawdle

sea trip walk

The Fleet Care Home had a beautiful start 2024, the weather has been lovely, especially for the weekly Darmouth Dawdle. The idea of Darmouth Dawdle is to enjoy a gentle stroll along the embankment in company with anyone in the community; this has been The Fleet's 6th Dawdle.

Our residents love getting involved in this wholesome activity, it's wonderful for them to engage with so many members of the local community who all came along to walk the embankment.

This week, due to the weather being so beautiful, we dawdled up to the higher ferry, back through avenue gardens where we saw Ryan tend to the war memorial where we paused to pay our respects.

Afterwards, we all headed into the The Flavel Cafe where they serve locally roasted coffees, tea and a selection of cold drinks (they also have a fully licensed bar). The hot drinks and tasty biscuits where just what we needed - thank you for the great hospitality as always!

We're passionate about getting our residents involved in days out within our local community. It's important for their mental health, overall wellbeing and their physical health for them to get out, enjoy some fresh air and get those steps in. The main benefit of this day out was to ensure our residents feel apart of the community and they did!
