A Wonderful Day at the Dartmouth Regatta

The residents at The Fleet spent this month taking in the sights, sounds and smells of The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta as part of the Dartmouth Dawdle Group. There was a wide range of skilled and talented business owners with handmade artwork, jewellery and clothing all up for sale and the residents thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the community on a lovely sunny day.

The Dartmouth Regatta is an annual event that supports our residents to access and be involved in greater community engagement which in turn helps to promote the overall health and well-being of our residents.

Many of our residents on their walk around the festivities reminisced experiences of Regatta and how much it has changed over the years. A few residents were able to bump into lots of old friends and acquaintances on the way, which was a pleasure to see. They spent some quality time together and it was great to hear some stories about how they met and memories they have made over the years!

Our residents not only enjoyed perusing around the stalls but also stopped at the Avenue Gardens and loved the entertainment of the delightful mid-morning disco and children’s fancy dress competition. There were so many different costumes full of colour and creativity!

At The Fleet, our residents and their well-being are at the heart of everything we do. We always ensure our varied activities programme includes things that not only positively impact the physical and mental health of our residents, but are also things that they enjoy the most!
