A Fantastic Fizz Boat Trip

At The Fleet Care Home, we are very lucky to be located in the seaside town of Dartmouth and we often can be seen with many of our residents by the sea, soaking in the sun on a warm summers day.

Now that we have entered the warmer months, we are taking lots of opportunities to enjoy the weather and recently had a trip on 'The Fizz Boat', which is located in Dartmouth's harbour.

'The Fizz Boats' hosts told us lots of stories about the local area, and they provided our residents with lots of prosecco and scones. The day was made extra special because it was our Theo's birthday.

The day couldn't be more perfect even if we tried, from the helpful and welcoming hosts to the seal that we spotred sunbathing. We can't wait to plan another trip with some more of our home's residents as we found that the effect on our residents who attended was very positive, engaging, and rewarding.

At The Fleet, we want to encourage as much social interaction as possible due to the positive benefits it has on the mental wellbeing of elderly people. Social and active opportunities can reduce the feeling of isolation and relieve feelings of anxiety and depression.

Our activities coordinators work hard to create a programme that allows our home to continue to live a purposeful and fulfilled life. Our programme makes good use of our first-class facilities, as well as events and trips into our local community.
